Sudan army rulers ‘delaying transition’ to civil rule – protest leaders
Sudanese protest leaders on Wednesday accused military rulers of delaying the transfer of power to a civilian administration.
The statement comes amid disagreements between the two sides over the country’s new governance structure.
“The military council’s response… is moving in the direction of extending the negotiation and not in the direction of transition” of power, the Alliance for Freedom and Change said, according to AFP.
Protest and opposition leaders also called for civil disobedience in response to what they described as the military’s “disappointing” response to their constitutional proposals, Reuters said.
