Curfew ordered in Sri Lanka’s capital after bomb attacks involving intl network – govt

The Easter Sunday bomb attacks in Sri Lanka were carried out with the help of an international network, cabinet spokesman Rajitha Senaratne said on Monday. “There was an international network without which these attacks could not have succeeded,” Senaratne, who is also the health minister, said. Sri Lankan authorities ordered a curfew in the capital, Colombo, for a second day on Monday, from 8pm (1430 GMT) to 4am (2230 GMT) on Tuesday, the government information department said. The statement came a day after a string of bombs killed 290 people and wounded about 500, Reuters said. Security forces are carrying out searches across the island to search for those behind the bombs at churches and hotels. No group has claimed responsibility.
