Thousands join anti-coal rally after suspension of forest clearance in Germany
Published 7 Oct, 2018 07:07Environmental activists gathered near ancient Hambach Forest, located between Cologne and Aachen, for an anti-coal rally on Saturday. Greenpeace said that around 50,000 people joined the event. The participants also marked a German court ruling ordering energy giant RWE to suspend the planned clearing of the woodland to make space for the company’s open-air coal mine.
