Russia, Turkey, Iran to hold summit on Syria, date to be announced soon – Lavrov
A date for the Tehran summit involving Russia, Iran and Turkey will be announced soon, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in Moscow on Friday. He was speaking after talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu. The three countries are involved in the Astana process on the Syrian settlement. “The date has been determined and will be announced very soon,” TASS quoted Lavrov as saying. As for the meeting’s agenda, “it will definitely include a package of issues,” he said. Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said earlier that the third meeting on Syria involving the leaders of Turkey, Russia and Iran was planned to take place in the Iranian capital of Tehran in the first week of September.
