Russian military shoot down militant drone near Khmeimim Air Base in Syria – MoD

Russian air defense units have downed a drone launched from a militant-controlled territory in the Syrian Latakia province, the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria has said. The aerial “target was destroyed away from the air base,” the head of the reconciliation center, Major General Aleksey Tsygankov, told the media, adding that the incident resulted in no casualties or damage to the facility. The Khmeimim Air Base continues to operate as normal, he said.
