Thousands evacuated from two besieged towns in northwestern Syria
Civilians were evacuated from rebel-held Shia Muslim settlements in Idlib province, Fouaa and Kafriya. Buses carrying the civilians arrived in Tal Al-Eis corridor in Aleppo and some of the evacuees needed medical assistance and were sent to hospitals, SANA reported on Thursday. Some 7,000 civilians left the besieged area after the Syrian government, supported by Russia and Iran, reached an agreement with the militants’ leaders, according to Russian military.
