Mexico extradites cartel boss El Chapo’s right-hand man to US

Damaso Lopez Nunez, a former top member of the Sinaloa Cartel, was airlifted to the US from Mexico on Friday. The 52-year old, who is known as ‘The Graduate’ due to his high level of education, was formerly a ‘senior lieutenant’ to the infamous drug lord Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman. El Chapo himself was extradited to the US in 2017, and the Mexican authorities believe Lopez can be a valuable witness in his trial.
