3 killed in car bomb attack at Iraqi polling station
Two voters and a bystander near a polling station were killed by a bomb attached to their car in Kirkuk on Saturday. Islamic State (IS, ISIS/ISIL) terrorists have claimed responsibility for the attack. They had threatened attacks in the run-up to Iraq’s first post-ISIS election since the terrorist group was defeated last year by US-backed Iraqi security forces. Roughly 24.5 million voters in the war-scarred country are choosing among candidates for 329 parliamentary seats this Saturday, with almost 7,000 people running for election.
