Air France cancels 30% of flights amid pay-rise strike
Air France had to cancel 30 percent of its flights to and from Paris Orly Airport and French regions due to a massive strike by pilots, cabin crew and ground staff, who are demanding higher pay. The strike, which entered its fifth day, has affected the French flag-carrier’s short- and long-haul flights, France24 reports. Airline management estimated that 34 percent of pilots as well as 26 percent of crew and 19 percent of ground staff took part in the strike. Unions have already warned that more strikes are likely to follow, with six more days of walkouts planned next week.
