Turkey kills 29 with airstrike on Kurds in Iraq
The Turkish army says that it has killed 29 "PKK militants" in an airstrike in northern Iraq, according to Reuters. Ankara said that its planes destroyed the hideouts and caves used by Kurdish recruits, who were allegedly planning an assault on the nearby Turkish border posts of Hakurk and Metina. The PKK is considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, which has battled the separatist movement for decades.
