Russian military force probably to be reduced in Syria – General Staff chief
The chief of the Russian General Staff said on Thursday that the size of the Russian military force in Syria is likely to be reduced. The reduction will “probably” take place, Valery Gerasimov said, answering reporters’ questions. He did not, however, give details of the probable reduction of troops. President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that a new stage was coming in Syria, which makes it possible to begin transition to political settlement.
