Democrat Philip Murphy wins New Jersey gubernatorial race
Democratic candidate Philip Murphy has defeated Republican Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno in a vote to replace Republican Governor Chris Christie in New Jersey. Murphy had 52.5 percent of the vote and Guadagno 45.6 percent based on 35 percent of precincts reporting, according to the Associated Press. Murphy has favored legalizing marijuana, a policy that has been opposed by Christie.
