ICC prosecutor to seek investigation into alleged war crimes in Afghanistan

The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court said Friday she will seek approval to open a formal investigation into allegations of war crimes in Afghanistan. Fatou Bensouda was quoted by Reuters as saying that there is a “reasonable basis to believe” war crimes and crimes against humanity were committed in the country.
