Catalonia representative at EU resigns

The permanent representative of the Catalan government to the EU, Amadeu Altafaj, resigned on Monday, TASS reported. The decision came after the Spanish government closed the Catalonian envoy’s office in Brussels, according to Altafaj’s letter published by Ara newspaper. The EU has not taken an active enough position towards the Catalonia crisis, he said. Europe should always promote seeking solutions and strengthening dialogue, Altafaj wrote.
