6.1-magnitude quake strikes off S. Japan - USGS

An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck off southern Japan on Thursday, Reuters reported, citing the United States Geological Survey. The quake struck 682km off the Island of Kyushu. The depth was 10km, the agency said. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
