Vladivostok commemorates fire victims

Nearly a hundred people have gathered in the centre of Vladivostok in Russia's Far East to commemorate the victims of a fatal fire. Nine women died on January 16 last year when the office building they were working in caught fire.

They were trapped in the burning building as stair exits were locked with metal bars and the lift was blocked. In order to escape the women jumped from the seventh floor.

Five people are facing charges of negligence or violation of fire safety.
