U.S. Congress to lift Jackson-Vanik amendment

The U.S. Congress is to consider lifting an amendment, which restricts trade between Russia and America. The Jackson-Vanik amendment was introduced in 1974 against countries which didn't operate free-market economies and restricted emigration rights.
Republican senator Richard Lugar says Russia has met all the demands for the last eight years.
