Sarkozy’s first year in power disappoints France
Just one year into his term, polls in France suggest the popularity of Nicolas Sarkozy is the lowest ever for a French president.
In a month Sarkozy's approval rating dropped from 40 to 32 per cent.
It's thought a poor economic performance and a colourful private life have led his ratings to drop to less than a third.
Sarkozy was elected last May with 53 per cent of the vote after promising major reforms in the country.
