“There is a relationship between North Caucasus and Al-Qaeda”

Professor Leonid Syukiyainen from the Moscow High School of Economics believes there is clear evidence that extremist groups in Russia are connected with international terrorist networks.

“There is a sort of relationship between terrorist organizations operating in the Northern Caucasus and between international organizations of Al-Qaeda. There is a lot of proof of such links – a lot of the camps preparing these terrorists personally and a lot of methods used by these terrorists,” he said.
