Poland-USA talks on missile defence systems about to begin

The Polish government has officially agreed to begin talks with the USA regarding the placing of missile defence systems on its territory. Russia previously stressed the missile defence shield could put international security at risk.

Poland is due to reply within 2 weeks to a U.S. offer to build an anti-missile base on its soil.

Meanwhile, a group of experts from the Pentagon are heading to Ukraine to brief authorities on the proposed missile defence system in Poland and Czech Republic.

In addition, the British ambassador to Russia Anthony Brenton has attempted to reassure Russia in a radio interview. He advised against retargeting Strategic Nuclear Forces at Poland and the Czech Republic.
