Orthodox Russia celebrates Saviour of the Apple Feast Day

Russian orthodox Christians are celebrating the Transfiguration of Jesus on Sunday, popularly known in Russia as the Saviour of the Apple Feast Day. Churches across the country bless the new harvest.

Head of Russia's Orthodox Church, Patriarch Aleksy II, has held a service in Moscow's Christ the Saviour Cathedral.

And according to tradition if one makes a wish while eating an apple on this day it'll come true.
