One Russian killed and another injured in Cyprus
One Russian woman was killed and another injured on Monday during a robbery attempt in the Cypriot capital, Nicosia. They were trying to defend themselves against the intruders when the incident happened.

“Two unidentified suspects in masks penetrated their flat through the balcony door on the second floor withthe purpose of robbery.” Vladimir Maistrenko, Counselor of Russian Embassy, explained, “When the girls tried to resist, the robbers tied their arms and legs, and glued tape on their faces to prevent them from shouting for help. According to preliminary results, it was suffocation that caused Kristina Polyntsova's death. On Tuesday a forensic investigation is being carried out to determine the exact cause of the death”.

Both women arrived in Cyprus at the beginning of April.

The injured woman is currently at the Nicosia Central hospital where she is believed to be in a stable condition.
