New round of talks on Czech missile defence

In Prague, the second round of talks begins on deployment of elements of the U.S. missile defence system in the Czech Republic, Tuesday. The two sides are to discuss the terms of personnel deployment and functioning of the U.S radar.

The first round of talks devoted to the legal aspects of the issue took place on May 10-11.

Following the first round, a group of American experts inspected the possible site for radar construction.

The issue of deploying elements of the U.S. missile defence system in Europe has caused fierce diplomatic debate as Russia and several other European countries oppose these plans.
