Missile talks fail in Washington
The latest round of talks over plans for a U.S. missile shield in Europe have failed, according to Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister. He says major disagreements remain, despite America hailing progress.
Russia's negotiators held a series of talks last week following the meeting in Moscow between the U.S. Secretaries of State and Defence and Russia's Foreign and Defence Ministers.
It's hoped a meeting between presidents Putin and Bush in the Black Sea resort city of Sochi in nine days time will see a progress.
The two sides are also trying to agree on a document covering security and economic issues, with both sides pointing to progress.
