Lebanese declare victory over Al-Qaeda

The Lebanese army has declared victory over an Al-Qaeda-inspired militant group in the country's northern refugee camp of Nahr al-Bared. The country's Defence Minister claims the terrorists have been crushed, and he said that the army would maintain a sie

The camp near the northern city of Tripoli was home to more than 30,000 people before the fighting broke out a month ago. It is believed some 2,000 refugees are still inside.

The conflict between the Lebanese military and militants at Nahr al-Bared was the worst outbreak of violence in Lebanon since the civil war. It cost the lives of at least 166 people.
