Following months of political turmoil, Kyrgyzstan's interim government has set a date for parliamentary elections.

The voting will take place on October 10th.

In April, a popular uprising ousted the country's President, Kurmanbek Bakiev.

A referendum in June supported a constitutional change that would make Kyrgyzstan a parliamentary democracy and significantly reduce presidential powers.
