Krasnodar bloodbath suspects detained

Four men suspected of killing 12 people, including four children, in the Krasnodar region have been detained.

They are believed to be members of a local gang, says Russia’s Investigative Committee. According to preliminary information, one of the men allegedly had a grudge against one of the victims.

Police are now interrogating the suspects, who may have had accomplices.

The brutal murder of the 12 in the village of Kushchevskaya happened on November 5. The killers stabbed to death eight adults and strangled two children. Two babies died from smoke inhalation after the perpetrators tried to burn the house to the ground.

Earlier on Tuesday, the governor of Krasnodar region announced a one million rouble (US$ 32,000) reward for information which would help identify the culprits and lead to their arrest.
