Italian airline workers go on strike

Italian airline workers go on strike

Travellers across Italy face cancellations and delays as the country's major airline workers go on strike. The 24-hour nationwide walk out, which started at midnight Thursday, involves pilots, flight attendants, and ground workers.

Dozens of flights have already been cancelled in Rome and Milan airports with Alitalia predicting further schedule disruptions.

Italy’s flagship airline has been hit by a series of strikes by workers fearing job cuts and protesting against privatisation.
