Israeli conference for Russian press opens

Journalists working for Russian-language media outlets are attending a four-day gathering in Israel which kicked off on Monday.

Worldwide, more than 200 million people read the Russian press.

Further, over one million Israelis, including several government ministers, are Russian speakers.

One of the goals of the conference is to tackle attempts to rewrite history, particularly regarding the role of the Soviet people and military during the Second World War.
