Forgive me Father… Vatican lists new deadly sins
The Vatican has added taking drugs and polluting the Earth on its new list of mortal sins.
Traditionally, the Catholic Church lists the so-called seven deadly sins of lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride.
The Vatican's Monsignor Gianfranco Girotti says the new sins include bioethical violations, stem cell research, drug abuse, pollution, and obscene wealth.
Whereas the old sins mostly focus on individual behaviour, the new ones are more concerned with how society acts as a whole and the laws that govern it.
