European hostages freed in Ethiopia

Five Europeans, held in captivity for 13 days by an unknown armed group, have arrived back in Ethiopia. They were taken to the British Embassy in the capital Addis Ababa to meet with their families and loved ones after being released in Eritrea.

The Europeans were abducted while on a sightseeing tour in a disputed border region. Eight Ethiopians who were with the tourists are still reported missing.

Eritrea denied claims it had masterminded the kidnapping blaming an Ethiopian rebel group.
