Demonstrators protest against Bush’s Mexico visit

Hundreds of demonstrators have protested at the U.S. embassy in the Mexican capital as President George Bush visits the country. The protesters ripped away a section of barricade and hit police officers with sticks and metal bars.

Mexican police tried to disperse the protestors with tear gas, pepper spray and baton chargers.

George Bush was in Mexico meeting his counterpart Felipe Caldren on the final day of his Latin America tour. Controversial immigration laws and drug trafficking were the main issues discussed by both presidents.

President Bush has already visited Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia and Guatemala.
