Contact made with stranded tourists in Russia's south

Rescuers have managed to make radio communication with stranded tourists from Moscow who got into difficulty in the mountains of the southern Russian republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.

One of the mountaineers found a rucksack containing a radio and food, which was dropped by rescuers from a helicopter on Monday.

Three tourists are still missing, one of them – the head of the group – died, and another is reported to have a broken leg.
