13 arrested after riot in Paris metro station

13 people have been arrested after police clashed with young rioters in a Paris metro station. The disturbances started after police detained an immigrant who allegedly attacked staff when asked to show his ticket.

Groups of youngsters started shattering shop windows and said police manhandled the suspect.

The riots come less four weeks before the presidential election.

Rivals accuse right-leaning candidate Nicolas Sarkozy of worsening tension between youths and the authorities.
