Knife-wielding man shot after threatening Paris police, shouting he wanted to kill them
Police have “neutralized” a man who threatened officers in the outskirts of Paris, according to the city’s police prefecture. The suspect died after being shot several times, local media reported.

The incident occurred in the capital’s La Défense financial district. A brief statement released by the Paris Police Prefecture said that an operation at the scene is ongoing.

Armed with a knife, the suspect rushed at police and shouted “I am going to kill you!” before being shot by officers. The man was reportedly killed after being shot in the chest and thigh, according to local media citing police sources.

The prefecture advised people to avoid the area until it was deemed safe.
