Counter-terror police detain armed ‘madman’ after siege in Paris suburb

The elite RAID police force has taken into custody an armed “madman” who had threatened to blow himself up in the Paris suburb of Enghien-les-Bains.
The only weapon the man has shown is a handgun, reports added.

Earlier, reports emerged online of a hostage situation and suicide blast threat at a lyceum in the suburb.
Photos of the extensive police presence and a safety perimeter around the area have appeared on social networks.

The local prefecture has denied all reports of a hostage situation in the area.
