That escalated quickly: Shoppers save child trapped by escalator (VIDEO)
A young child in China had a lucky escape after his hand became stuck in an escalator, thanks to some quick action by passersby.
A woman is seen running to the boy’s aid while another passerby hits the escalator’s emergency button, bringing it to a halt.
He’s not the first child to have a near escape on an escalator. In May 2015, an unsupervised 2-year-old boy had a very close brush with death after he fell off an escalator in Dongguan in China’s Guangdong province. The boy managed to survive the fall, but had to undergo a number of life-saving surgeries after.
Children aren’t the only ones that have befallen the wrath of the escalator, though, as this man proved in 2014.
A similar fate befell this man when he too tried to outsmart the moving steps.
