Dynamic duo: Putin, Medvedev pump iron in Sochi gym (PHOTOS, VIDEOS)
The Russian head of state and the prime minister met in tracksuits at Bocharov Ruchei, the Russian president’s dacha in the city of Sochi, the capital of the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Their training session didn’t differ much from the one we all do: first they warmed up and then proceeded to lifting weights.
Later the politicians rewarded themselves with a barbeque, which they prepared without any help.
Putin, who has a black belt in judo, is an active participant in quite a number of sporting activities. His recent extreme ride in a three-seat submersible to the depths of the Black Sea as part of a Russian Geographical society expedition recently rocked social media.
In 2010, to celebrate Russia being awarded the right to host the Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2014, the Russian president took to a raceway in St. Petersburg to test out a race car. After getting a safety rundown from the experts, he got behind the wheel and reached speeds of up to 240 kilometers per hour.
In 2015, he tested himself in ice hockey and managed to score an impressive eight goals in an NHL game – that’s the Night Hockey League version in Sochi.
