Poisoning WA, Oscars propaganda, TPP secrecy, Tour de Peace

On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin talks to peace activist Cindy Sheehan about ‘Tour de Peace,’ an ambitious initiative to bike across the country demanding an end to US wars and militarism. Abby breaks down the military propaganda during last night’s Oscars ceremony and highlights Palestinian filmmaker Emad Burnat as the day’s hero.

Abby then speaks to legislative representative for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Mike Dolan about the Trans-pacific Partnership (TPP), the Obama administration’s efforts for a new trade agreement with the EU, and the negative implications of these agreements. BTS wraps up the show with a look at the ongoing nuclear crisis at the Hanford Nuclear site in Washington State – yet another example of a ‘Sacrifice Zone’ where the most vulnerable among us are most at risk.
