Indian Army’s motorcycle team sets record (VIDEO)
The special corps of the Indian Army, known as the ‘Daredevils’, dazzled spectators on Sunday by setting a new world record for the highest human pyramid on moving motorcycles. The team formed a 6.2-meter-tall pyramid with 33 men atop nine motorcycles, while covering a distance of 2km along a ceremonial boulevard in New Delhi during the 76th Republic Day parade.
The Daredevils were established in 1935 and have performed over 1,600 displays across India, showcasing the Indian Army’s capabilities. The unit holds 33 world records, including entries in the Guinness World Records, Asia Book of Records, and Limca Book of Records, according to the ANI news agency.
The grand parade featured various contingents, including a 148-member all-women marching contingent of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and a 250-member contingent from Indonesia. Prabowo Subianto, the president of the Southeast Asian nation, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
According to Indian Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, the event was a testament to the strong ties between India and Indonesia and marked a new chapter in their bilateral relations. New Delhi’s Defense Ministry hailed the discipline and pride of both India and Indonesia in a post on X.

The Republic Day parade showcased India’s defense capabilities, featuring an array of military equipment, including the BrahMos missile, co-developed by India and Russia, India’s indigenously developed Pinaka rocket system, and the Akash air defense system, according to media reports. The Indian military also showcased its automated battle surveillance system, ‘Sanjay’, a robotic mule, and the ‘Pralay’ tactical missile – both significant additions to India’s military arsenal.

Other notable military assets on display included the Russian-origin T-90 ‘Bhishma’ tanks built in India under license, Sarath infantry-carrying vehicles, the Nag Missile System, and the vehicle-mounted infantry mortar system (Airawat).
The grand finale of the parade featured a formation of 40 Indian Air Force aircraft, including the C-130J Super Hercules, C-17 Globemaster, and Russian-origin Su-30 fighter jets.
Sharing glimpses of the parade on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated it was a showcase of the country’s “cultural heritage and military prowess.”
