Russian art sales break records at Christie’s
The sale of Russian art at Christie's auction houses in 2007 reached a record $US 144 million worldwide.
London sales last November alone topped $US 81 million, which was in itself a world record.
The Rothschild Faberge Egg which sold for $US 18,5 million dollars was among the lots.
Christie's says Russian art is a rapidly developing area and plans to open an office in Moscow.
