Russia to build two nuclear reactors in Bulgaria
Russian “ATOMSTROYEXPORT” company has won a four billion euro contract to build two nuclear reactors for Bulgaria. They will be installed at an atomic power plant at Belene, in the north of the Balkan state.
Russia beat off stiff competition from the Czech Skoda company to secure the deal. Bulgaria says it chose Russia for greater experience in operating nuclear power plants than that of its competitor. Bulgaria's decision to award Russia the contract is a significant victory for the “ATOMSTROYEXPORT” company, which also builds nuclear power plants for China, India and Iran.
