Russia combines atomic energy assets

Russia has been combining all of its atomic energy assets into one company. The new joint stock venture will be called Atomenergoprom – or the Atomic Energy Complex.

The company will unite the entire atomic energy cycle – from the production of uranium and nuclear fuel to the construction, operation and decommissioning of nuclear power plants.

The announcement of its formation came in a presidential decree from Vladimir Putin.

From the outset, the venture will be fully owned by the Federal Government.
