Metro link planned for airport
Russian company East Line, operating Moscow's Domodedovo airport, plans to build a $670 mln light-rail metro link to the capital's largest international airport. A concession agreement will govern the line's construction, enabling investors to recouThe operator already has a rail connection to the airport from Moscow’s Paveletskaya station, run by the Aeroexpress company. This is reckoned unlikely to handle estimated passenger numbers in the next 10 to 15 years. Aeroexpress believes that to recoup expenses over a decade, the concessionaire must set high ticket prices. Improving the existing line by purchasing faster trains might be a better option.
