MOSCOW, APRIL 9, 2018Ruptly, RT’s global multimedia video news agency, and the network’s historical social media reenactment #1917LIVE scored four nominations in The Drum Online Media Awards — a prestigious international competition for online journalism. RT will compete against other major media outlets and Facebook.

Video agency Ruptly is short-listed in the “Commercial Team of the Year” category, while Ruptly LIVE, its groundbreaking platform for live content broadcasting, will compete with Facebook, CNN and The Times in the “Technical Innovation of the Year” category.

Global multimedia video news agency Ruptly was launched by RT in 2013. Today its materials are used by more than 1,000 media companies from 89 countries — from major TV channels to online projects and mobile platforms. Ruptly videos have appeared on air and online for news outlets such as CNN, NBC, CBS, and VICE. Launched in 2017, the Ruptly Live platform gives anyone the ability to stream professional live video content from around the world in as few as three clicks, allowing broadcasters and vloggers alike to stream live video quickly and easily. In 2017, Ruptly was named “Best B2B News Site” at the prestigious Drum Online Media Awards.

RT’s international #1917LIVE Twitter project, a large-scale historical reenactment marking the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution by recreating the events “in real time”, will compete with DW and Sky News in the “Editorial Campaign of the Year” category, and with the BBC, Bloomberg, DW and The Independent for “Social Media Team of the Year”. It also grabbed a nomination for the Digiday Content Marketing Awards in the “Most Original Use of Twitter category”.
