Cubans line up to mourn death of Fidel Castro in Havana
People are gathering near the Jose Marti Memorial on the north side of Havana’s Plaza de la Revolucion to honor the memory of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, who died at the age of 90 on Friday. After the Cuban Revolution, in February of 1959, Castro became Cuba’s leader and ruled until 2008, when he formally ceded power to his brother Raul. Even after stepping down, Fidel was still considered the most significant moral authority in Cuba.
