A Russian daredevil has taken a patriotic leap to celebrate Victory Day, plunging from a crane in the city of Voronezh while holding on to a St. George banner to mark the historic day.

Bogdan Korzhenevsky made the terrifying tribute to his country with just a rope to keep him safe. He can be seen screaming in delight as he drops, while proudly unraveling an eight-meter-long (26-foot-long) St. George banner, which is a patriotic symbol in Russia.

Korzhenevsky released the footage on the eve of Victory Day, which will see celebrations across Russia marking the 72nd anniversary of the capitulation of Nazi Germany.

RT will be covering all the events as they happen.
