The Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador has experienced a record-breaking snowstorm, with over 2 meters (7 feet) of snow burying the town of Gander. Locals have been sharing insane photos of themselves trying to dig out their houses and cars.
Newfoundland in east Canada has had 135cm (53 inches) of snowfall since last Thursday, March 30, according to a weather recording of Gander International Airport by Environment Canada.

When that number is added to what was already on the ground, those lucky enough to live in places like Gander are dealing with about 238cm of snow, reports the Weather Network, “shattering” the entire province’s previous measly 2004 record of 174cm.
So what does 93 inches / 7.8 feet of snow look like in the everyday world? A headache and quite a lot of workout, but also a bit of fun, pictures on social media reveal.
