A group of young students jumping rope like a well-drilled army are mesmerizing the internet with their synchronized skipping routine.

The phalanx of children from Japan’s Fuji Jump Rope Association show what can be achieved with a bit of patience and a lot of practise.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, but it seems the students have ironed out any problems with timing and trust, allowing them to perform an incredible synchronized skip.

A video of the sixth graders’ feat has been viewed more than 5 million times on Facebook.

It shows a boy and a girl twirling a skipping rope at speed in a yard, as lines of their friends leap over it in quick succession.

The chanting children resemble a orderly troop of soldiers, weaving in a figure eight formation without stopping or tripping over the rotating rope.

Even the slightest miscue or trailing leg could have meant a hilarious pile-up. However, the regimented team manage to carry out their routine with ease, resulting in wild celebrations at the end.
