In a recent incident, a man aged 88 opened fire inside a crowded museum in Washington DC. Investigative journalist Wayne Madsen says local law enforcement agencies do not observe carefully enough hate groups in the US.

On June 10, an 88-year-old man walked into the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC and shot dead a security guard in the popular national landmark.

It was the latest in a string of high-profile hate crimes to hit the country within a month.

U.S. President Barack Obama has condemned the shooting of the security guard at the country's Holocaust Museum.
